Although 2020 will be remembered as one of the most challenging years the world has experienced in a long time, it will also be the year that we witnessed heroic acts of courage and determination.
It’s easy to focus on the negative when that is all we are given to see. However, it’s important to stop for a second to take a look at the good that has come from our challenges.
Despite the difficult and uncertain times that came with 2020, our team at Step Away have had the honor of witnessing the immense strength and character of everyone in our care.
It takes great courage to commit to a sober life and it has been humbling for all of us at Step Away to be so integrally involved in the process of each individual who forms part of the Step Away family.
So, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge and respect each one of our patients who has walked the difficult path to sobriety during such difficult and uncertain times.
To have each person form part of our family is the reason we are still here, doing what we do. To be part of your journey gives us great honour and for that we are deeply grateful.
We would like to thank our entire team of amazing individuals who have worked tirelessly to provide the highest level of rehabilitation care possible, making recovery possible for anyone who commits to this life.
The festive season is meant to be a joyous time celebrating family and loved ones while recuperating from a busy and challenging year.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that falling into temptation is simply not worth it. Rather remove yourself from potentially harmful situations than risk falling into the hands of temptation.
Remember, that we are always available for support during difficult times. You are never alone.
For our in-patients, we look forward to hosting a wonderful Christmas celebration at the center for everyone to enjoy.
From everyone at Step Away, we wish you a wonderful, safe and merry festive season and a prosperous 2021.
And, as we continue to navigate our way through the pandemic, please remember to be safe, maintain social distancing, wear your mask and sanitize your hands.
With love, the Step Away team!
